Jackson Pollock

Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec

Toulouse-Lautrec was a French painter and lithographer.  He would attain fame during the 1890's. It would be the banquet years of Paris. It was when the city flaunted its entertainment and fashion. He lived during the height of what have been called "the banquet years" of Paris.  His posters of the dancers and personalities at the Moulin Rouge cabaret would become world renowned.

Wassily Kandinsky

Wassily Kandinsky was a Russian born painter. In the years before World War II, Kandinsky was was co-founder (along with Franz Marc)of the Expressionist group Der Blaue Reiter (Blue Rider) and later he taught at the German Art School The Bauhaus. He is considered the originator of abstract art.

El Greco
El Greco was trained in the school of icon painting. It is believed that he studied in Venice under Titian where he learned to use rich colors and a free, sketch like style of painting.

Renoir
Renoir was a French impressionist painter and sculptor. He began working when he was 13 in Paris decorating porcelain for a Paris factory. From this experience he would gain experience with the light, fresh colors that were to distinguish his Impressionist work. He is considered the best-loved of all the impressionist artists
